Booking in staff was friendly, smiled and was helpful. Had a good night sleep, Breakfast had good selection from fruits and continental. Bedroom could have been update with mobile USB chargers sockets.
Our family are regulars to the restaurant, there is wide range of tasty options to include vegetarian food. They also provide an excellent service. Large groups are catered for if booked in advance.
The hotel's location is ideal for visitors who are using pubic transport. The hotel is not in central London but it was extremely easy to get around to all parts of London from East Croydon. If you use the correct exit out of the train station, the hotel is within a 2-minute walk to the hotel. This made our London experience manageable and stress free.Our room was a nice size. The whole place is rather old, carpet, furniture, but most of all the bathroom. Lots of rusty spots around the bath/shower area. The sanitary fixtures were extra old. It was hard to turn the shower on and adjust the hot and cold water. After the shower, the water tap ran for along time, also due to the fact that it was almost impossible to turn the handles off tightly. The toilet was also an issue. The waiting period between flushing was much too long. Modernization is in dire need!
My review is for the car parking facility - please don't think you can park here and not get fined for the same price as being a guest at this hotel, I tried to pay for my parking and the system refused (I think the system doesn't work on purpose) so instead of paying the correct fee I was fined ten times and PCN is just corrupt company because they made it so easy to pay the fine but when it came to paying for the ticket, I tried for days contacted them but they just don't do anything to help you pay unless it's a fine payment - moral: avoid parking here.
A beautiful venue. We had our Xmas party which was absolutely fantastic. Staff were great. A wonderful experience. Next time I would like to book a room.
