Horrendous service, horrendous company. Staff rude, taken payment twice and refuse to process immediate refund despite acknowledging fault.
I booked a van rental over the phone, to be delivered and collected by Europcar to and from my home address.After an email suggested I had to go the their depot to collect the vehicle, I phoned up again to check the booking. Was told and had an email sent to me showing delivery & collection to/from me. Situation resolved?NO.1 hour before the vehicle was due to be with me I had a phonecall from the depot telling me "yes, we wanted to be sure you got the message we left you a couple of days ago. We don't deliver. You need to come to us"Really? The message was never left - my call logs and voicemail confirm Europcar never called on the date suggested... and seriously, if they had actually left a message... why call again "to check"? I know when I'm being fobbed off with excuses.After calling no less than 7 different numbers, Europcar's representatives (certainly not the guys at the Croydon depot) agreed to arrange a cab to the depot so I could collect the van.On arrival, more excuses were thrown at me as to why they can't deliver... because their staff aren't capable of this and that and they were being conned out of their vehicles. Without a word of a lie, less than a minute later their guy said, in response to the arrangement their call centre had made agreeing to collect the van the following day, "if you need to go out, just leave the keys under the doormat".So... let me get this straight - your staff are so poorly trained that they just hand car keys to people at random when delivering vehicles, so you don't do consumer delivery - and yet I have a van covered in your company logo sat outside, and I'm supposed to just leave the keys under a doormat.... whilst the van is still technically my responsibility?I don't think so!So, final insult to injury, I'm taken out to my van... which is covered in Europcar logos and stickers proudly proclaiming that "we deliver to you".False advertisingPoor serviceRudeIn breach of trade descriptions actand the vehicle was due to be collected from me over an hour ago at latest... so I'm halfway through my day waiting for Europcar London Croydon to arrive.
