I was depositing money into an account for a relative and was not familiar at all with the way this society operated. After locating the sort code and bank account number, as I did not have a card to access the ATM, I was a little bemused as to how to proceed. TThe young lady I approached was wonderful. She talked me through the process while working with me to ensure the job was done. I was actually quite impressed with the minuturized printed version of the cheques I had deposited. There was the evidence that the job had been done. They don't produce that at my bank!
Cashier was very helpful- although she was reluctant to carry out what I had asked - Im guessing because of the previous reviewer they have improved their service- I had to draw out money whilst waiting for a replacement card- I got the amount I requested quickly and efficiently. The place is definitely due for a face lift- possibly the saddest bank in Croydon!
Rude staff. Brighton branch promised me that if I had a new debit card sent, I could withdraw more than 50 pounds in any branch, which I needed to pay for my hotel that night, as I had no other options. They then, after looking at my passport for 10 minutes like she thought she was James Bond, told me that the limit was 50 since I had just gotten my card ordered and would have been 10 pounds only if I hadn't just had my card re-ordered.She then refused to consider the previous several withdrawals I had made with passport and signature of 50 pounds, which was clear evidence that either she was lying or her colleagues from the same branch. I was at no point disrespectful and was treated like a criminal for wanting my own money so I could sleep indoors.I would be okay with policies for security reasons if it weren't for the fact that they make up the policies on the go. I would highly recommend against Halifax, and particularly against this Croydon branch.
