Service was very good at the Centre. Staff were very helpful . I had an appointment on December 15th at 12pm. We finished on time and did not wait for long duration. On 20th I received a email notification that my visa has been granted and they will send decision letter and my BRP by post. Overall I had good experience.
Never pick up the phone and their system doesn't work properly. I was also waiting outside for someone and they told me to move away.
Applied for Premium Service for visa extension, we were informed there is one item needing update by the employer, then we did immediately the day after. The officer mentioned we need to wait for "a few weeks", now has been more than 5 weeks, still no calls, no updates. No online tracking system as well. Tried to call hundreds of times, no answers at all. I have already missed couples of important business meetings in Asia because of this.
Read on and be prepared for what to expect at premium service centre:I was bit sceptical after reading the reviews but my experience wasn't as bad as others. It's always a good idea to book the first appointment at 09:00 as you can be the queue much earlier than any other slot. Reach the place at least 30 minutes early so that you can finish off security and get to 3rd floor reception where they check your appointment letter and allocate a token number to you. Once you get your token number, you'll be called and your details will be entered into their IT system and you'll be called for biometrics after 10-15 minutes. Once that's done, your application will be looked by a case worker and it takes about an hour from there. You'd always be waiting at the area near cafe waiting for your token number to be called on big screen(6-7 of them). Couple of unpleasant experiences:- Lift wasn't working and had to walk up to 3rd floor. I don't mind climbing steps but when you have a child with you, you wouldn't want to do it. - My first attempt of Bio metrics did not go through as there was an issue with their IT system and I was called 20 minutes later to give my biometrics again. I entered at 8:30 am for 09:00 am appointment and had my decision at 11:45am. Perhaps my application was very straightforward and was lot easier to make decision. You may wish to take some snacks with you to munch while you wait or you may buy at the cafe which has limited options. Most of the staff(4-5 of them) were really good and were very patient with my questionsAll in all, it was a very good experience and I could easily ignore few hiccups. I appreciate the staff and their patience.
There are many negative views about the Home Office. So, we came with low expectation for their services & building until we are proven wrong! I was pleasantly surprised with the positive experience we had while visited the premium service for my spousal visa application. The staff are efficient yet friendly including security, reception and the counter staff. We got the decision for my application with 3 hours, the case workers know what they are doing & handled our paperwork efficiently. The waiting area is clean, spacious and bright. I'd highly recommend to bring phone charger, books or anything to keep you entertain during the long wait. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but I'd give 5 stars if only securing the appointment for Premium Service is easier! So, please increase the availability of your staff, we paid a fortune to get this premium service.
